Thanks the article got me thinking what i could do at work.At home everything that would decompose in a month goes into the compost heap.I was amazed how much paper we wasted at home..paper towels and napkins. Now all that goes into the compost heap, along with meal/table scraps, tea bags, coffee grounds and daily news papers. Our Company will look into adding a recyclable bin for cans and bottles.

Very good article. In our company we have started a couple of new practices. 1) Meeting Notes-I take all the notes and type them up and distribute them to the staff electronically. 2) We are no longer printing out company newsletters. We are saving them electronically in a shared file so that everyone can go there to read them and only print what they need. 3) We are scanning all items that we need back up copies of and storing electronically rather than making duplicate paper copies. This way they are also being backed up on our server and this also saves filing cabinet space for items that we must have hard copies of on hand.
These are just a few of the things we are implementing.
We are a small company, but we feel it is important to do our part.

Great ideas. I have a friend who works for Coke and another with an ad agency, and both of their e-mails have a corporately-defaulted stamp that says "Please consider the environment before printing this e-mail." Of course, I didn't notice it until I saw it coming out of the printer, but it made me think twice the next time.

Good article. We recycle here at work, but only paper, and too many people don't distinguish between the waste bin and the recycling bin. I like the idea about the coffee grounds and will see if I can line up a partnership between our coffee areas and some local landscaping companies. I'm sure they'd like the free compost.
