We’re about a week into the running for the 2nd annual Big Strides in Small Business Award– have you entered your small business yet?
If not, don’t worry – you still have until June 21, 2013 to enter your company’s video for a chance to win a prize package worth $10,000, plus the opportunity to help 100 people in your local community with premium, one-on-one career services.
Remember, during the week of June 24th – June 28th, your videos will be open to collect votes from your peers. CareerBuilder will review the top three videos (those with the most votes) to pick a grand prize winner.
Increase your chances of winning – tips for maximizing your video share:
- Get the word out on social media: Have a company Facebook page? Put the link there with a quick statement as to why you’re participating in this contest and asking them to vote for the video to help. The same goes for Twitter, Google+, Pinterest or any other social network where your company has a presence. (That includes your company website and/or company blog!)
- Rally your employees: Make sure your employees know you’re participating in the Big Strides award and explain to them why. Send them a link to the video, ask them to vote and encourage them share it with their social networks. (Don’t stop at one email or meeting, either – remind them on a weekly basis.)
- Include the link in your email signature: Create a quick message in your signature such as “Help us empower employment – vote for our video: [link to video]” – and encourage your employees to do the same.
- Put the cause first: Communicate to your followers that this isn’t about your company – it’s about helping the community at large (in addition to getting a $10,000 CareerBuilder Recruitment Solution package to use toward future employment efforts, CareerBuilder will also provide one-on-one career services for 100 job seekers in the winning company’s local community).
