Three in Four Workers Are Happy In Their Jobs

talent statisticsOdds are you’re probably off work today. We’re also willing to bet that most Americans will have a hard time if asked to articulate why. After all, Labor Day is sort of the red-headed stepchild in the world of holidays – it’s not as festive as, say, Thanksgiving (though turkeys everywhere will beg to argue otherwise).

But it SHOULD be. After all, it’s a special day to celebrate Americans’ accomplishments in the workplace. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Labor Day “constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

Not only that, when CareerBuilder surveyed more than 3,000 full-time workers in the second quarter of 2013, 3 out of 4 actually said they were happy in their jobs. And that sounds like a good enough reason to celebrate. (Not throw-an-ugly-sweater-party-while-drinking-eggnog festive, though. That can wait till fall.)

So in the spirit of the holiday, there’s no better time to celebrate your workers and help put others to work by joining CareerBuilder’s Empowering Employment movement. And together, we can move our economy forward.
