To commemorate National Coffee Day on Sept. 29, CareerBuilder teamed up with Dunkin’ Donuts to poll U.S. workers about what we assume is the workplace’s unofficial beverage of choice. (Because, let’s face it, ‘National Water Day’ wouldn’t sound trendy enough.)
Fifty-five percent of workers in the U.S. admitted to drinking at least one cup of coffee during the work day, while 61 percent of those who drink coffee help themselves to two or more.
Also, 1 in 3 workers say they’re less productive if they forego their daily caffeine intake, and 59 percent of workers would rather have a coffee break than a snack break at work.
So, if you want to your employees to be more productive, giving them access to free coffee might not be such a bad idea.
