More than half (58 percent) of U.S. employers say that when it comes to their business, it feels like the recession isn’t really over. That sentiment is even more pronounced (2 in 3) among businesses with 50 or fewer employees, according to a new CareerBuilder survey of 2,000-plus hiring managers and HR professionals outlining the biggest staffing challenges that employers face.
“Many companies are still struggling to regain footing that was lost during the recession,” said Rosemary Haefner, vice president of HR at CareerBuilder. “Only 28 percent of employers reported that their business has returned to normal or is better than it was before 2007.”
