Which 10 States Are Leading Post-Recession Job Growth?

talent statisticsNorth Dakota might not be home to any national monuments, notable sports teams, memorable architecture, noteworthy museums or famous residents, but there is one characteristic distinguishing it from the other 49 states: remarkable job growth.

Economic Modeling Specialists, Intl. (EMSI), a CareerBuilder company, recently released a list of the states showing the fastest recovery in terms of job growth since the end of the Great Recession. With 17 percent job growth from 2010 to 2013, North Dakota leads the pack, with D.C. following at a distant second. Utah, Texas and Colorado rounded out the top five. On the other end of the spectrum, Arkansas, Mississippi, Maine, Alabama, and New Mexico have seen the slowest post-recession job recoveries, with job growth ranging from merely 1.1 percent to 1.6 percent over the last four years.

The following graph shows the states with most job growth per capita.
