Halfway through 2015, it’s time to check base with recruiting strategies and where the hot areas for hiring are throughout the rest of the year. And according to CareerBuilder’s Midyear Job Forecast, the top industries expected to outperform the national average for full-time, permanent hiring in the back half of 2015 include:
- Information Technology (56 percent)
- Health Care (56 percent)
- Hospitality (54 percent)
- Financial Services (52 percent)
- Manufacturing (52 percent)
- Retail (50 percent)
What does this mean for you?
These in-demand industries aren’t too surprising, especially as the top three are all STEM-related fields, but knowing which roles and emerging focuses have talent demands can help as you edit your own recruitment strategies for the second half of 2015.
The top functional areas where employers will be adding jobs include customer service (31 percent of hiring managers), sales (23 percent), information technology (22 percent), production (18 percent), accounting/finance (12 percent), marketing (11 percent) and human resources (9 percent).
Additionally, the forecast shows that the most in-demand candidates will have experience or education tied to mobile, search or cloud technology; cyber security; social media; wellness; financial regulation; managing and interpreting big data; content strategy for the Web; alternative energy sources and robotics.
