Justin Thompson
Justin Thompson joins CareerBuilder as a project manager in the emerging media area, focusing on helping businesses identify opportunities through social media specifically. He has spent much of his career writing, even delving into the world of professional celebrity gossip, despite sounding like an oxymoron - yes, Virginia, there is such a thing. Prior to joining CB Social, Justin worked on both sides of the fence, having experience in agency and corporate environments. Working on one of the largest global QSR brands, he tackled the other mysterious art of public relations, writing, and pitching news stories to the media, and managing promotional and philanthropic events to secure successful coverage on behalf of clients. Once he went corporate, he became an in-house account manager. As part of the product marketing team, Justin assisted both internal and external audiences. His work included developing and writing marketing collateral, including e-mails, direct mail, and newsletters; writing ad copy and scripting video spots; creating incentive programs and automated processes for user engagement; and establishing a need for social media and web presence, eventually blogging on a regular basis. Yes, all of that and the other day-to-day duties typical of account management. Justin received his BA in advertising and public relations journalism from Franklin College in 2005.
